Checking into God’s Presence... I have sent you among the heathens as sheep among the wolves was the message drummed into my thoughts throughout the night. When I checked the chapter incorporating the verse; I marvelled. The compelling verses in Matthew 10 goes like this: “But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, and raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.” Matthew 10:6-9 Christians of nowadays, as what are you operating within the congregation of God? How many people have you sent away from the confines of God through fake rumours, fake prophecies and unrelated tales/stories. By what standard have you been raising unnecessary fear, doubts, instigating and castigating members of God’s household? What of molestation, lies, pride, anger, lack of forgiveness and all other vices you have displayed to dismantle the work of God? If your attribute/attitude causes discouragement, discomfort and as a result, people are removed or they remove themselves from the church through your actions; you have to think again about your salvation. Ironically, same Matthew 10 was so clear about the Character of God in relation to the above assessment. “For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you. And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.” Matthew 10: 19-22 “The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord. It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household? Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.” Matthew 10:24-26 Talking about the reward which translates to salvation, the chapter concluded; “he that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it. He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.” “He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward.” Matthew 10:39-41. As a result, “we then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification.” “For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me. For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.” “Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus: That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.” Amen (Romans 15:1-7) Just Checking into His Presence...
