Checking into God’s Presence...
“Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord. And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the Lord your God. For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people. And whatsoever soul it be that doeth any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people.
Ye shall do no manner of work: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. It shall be unto you a Sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your Sabbath.” Leviticus 23: 27-32. Nowadays, those called Children of God do have an overall assessment of how they classify true worship in God’s Sanctuary. Generally, what is true in prayer may have stemmed from many pastoral visits made by many to the different sanctuary. Aside, there are clear misconceptions about those who are simply overzealous in their Christian duties. Usually, this attitude acts more as a smokescreen, covering up their true intentions concerning true worship.
What is true worship, therefore? I once listened to a preacher who quipped: Do you have a hard time letting go of your time to God? Do you continually move closer to God in times of needs and or difficulties? What motivates every act in the presence of God? Does your attributes, including giving in the church, entails the character of God? Listen to what Apostle Paul has to say in Hebrews 6:11-12-“And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises”.
Consequently, true worship has to be measured in terms of how eternal your relationship is with God. Do remember; “the fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise. Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner”-Proverbs 11:30-31:”He that trusteth in his riches shall fall; but the righteous shall flourish as a branch”. Proverbs 11:28 Oh Lord, our God, strengthen our faith and give us the empowerment to declare our riches purely on Your merit in Jesus name. Amen
