Checking into God's Presence…
Yesterday was yours, but it is now gone and, whatever records written against us in the areas of righteousness cannot be changed. Such records become infinite: whether it is good or bad.
Ecclesiastes 12:14 states: "God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil." But, this new day is still very much on our laps, and that gives me the courage to ask if we will make it count toward any meaningful possession; by this time tomorrow.
Things do not have to go the way we want them at all times, but by the acceptance of God's plan, purposes, commandments, and promises. Remember the Book of Genesis 37-50, during the time of Joseph, there was a very severe famine, and Joseph was able to cope without derailing from the presence of God.
Christians can draw faith, belief, strength, and determination from this story. While Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego experience also provide solid and lasting lessons that believers can emulate.
They proclaimed the Name of God at the expense of the decree set by Nebuchadnezzar in Daniel 3:13-18. It states: "furious with rage; Nebuchadnezzar summoned Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
These men appeared before the king, and Nebuchadnezzar said to them, "Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, that you do not serve my gods or worship the image of gold I have set up?
Now when you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe, and all kinds of music, if you are ready to fall and worship the image, I made, very good. But if you do not worship it, you will be thrown immediately into a blazing furnace. Then what God will be able to rescue you from my hand?"
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego replied to him, "King Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve can deliver us from it, and he will deliver us[c] from Your Majesty's hand.
But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up".
Christians should consider serving the Lord a must, and toil in other directions can be very comical.
We must bear in mind that the blessings of yesterday cannot help with today and, following a regime that is different from God's pattern will lead to nowhere. Only God "can satisfy desires with good things so that our youth can be-renewed like the eagle."
Psalm 103:5. So, what is it going to be today? Fear the Lord and keep His Commandments or pretend while trying to do so? May the Lord satisfy our desires with good things in Jesus' Name. Amen
