Checking into God's Presence…
"And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself, Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.
And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife. Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:
That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:" Hebrews 6: 11-18
All Christians must be diligent in the assurances of hope given on the promises of God to the end of their lives. They should not renounce any of those promises made through faith in the commandments of God.
Instead, they must be able to wait in patience, hope and be able to persevere in tribulations before they can inherit the promises made by God.
"For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself, Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee. And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise."
For Children of promise will swear by more extraordinary things in their bids to make God use and consider their oaths as a confirmation of their loyalty. If God can believe their oaths and pledges, it becomes a sign of fulfilment to the Kingdom call, which they hope will end their strife.
But men often forget their oaths and always go back to their old ways. "Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:
That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:" God: You couldn't lie to Abraham, Isaac and unto Jacob;
You swore by Your name to make them believe You and that right remains so much with You. Therefore in blessing, choose to bless and multiply us so Your glory can shine through us in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen
