Testimony Time:-Isn't it odd that the world is what it is today because religious houses have simply failed to transform people and make them become what the Bible preaches? Would you believe that religion needs as much reform like the economy and other viable institutions that lacks transformation? My earliest submissions so far is that the ethos to pursue this assertion is proving to be beyond any reformation with the exception of Christ involvement.
Such fear has also been expressed by so many writers who describes and compares what the Bible preaches against the expectations of other religion. It is so impossible to find any religion which does not call for love, peace, tolerance, freedom of belief and mutual understanding in our relationship with each other. Again, many religious sects have been infiltrated by some extremists who commit acts of violence in the name of religion and then consider themselves religious. Like all other religions, God's precepts never advocates any power to any sinful nature. "My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin and if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous (1 John 2:1). Directly or indirectly, gross sins have always been committed towards one another in the light of ugly perceptions, opinions and indoctrinations capable and culpable to have been brewed, learnt and received at homes, schools and work places. Even to the extent of where some of these religious institutions are situated. Consequently, these attributes now forms the basis of all violence we now have and presumably; they all come under the name of the same religious groups these same people now find themselves.
Very sadly, these same people tolerates uglier things in their personal lives than every little fight they pick on the way with people of alike minds. Homes have been found to be infested with mice, rats, cockroaches and ants of different kinds. Many enjoy living with them but cannot stand, suggest or accept any peaceful reconciliation. Aside, some lice have taken over some heads with no solution and people still finds a way of coping with such predicament. As well as this, it is easier for people to go about with socks and shoes which has holes in them, clothing-although hidden from view has hallmarks with significant threadbare. Now you will agree that what needs reforming is not the religion aspect per se but the people that forms the slogan under which every religion operates. Therefore today, what can you do in the name of love? Remember, Christ first loved us so that we too can love each other in return. (1 John 4:19)
Lord you are so good, we believe You are powerful enough to use every circumstances to Your advantage. Change our circumstances today and make them Yours. Give us the power to love with peace and the ability to tolerate each other's shortcomings in Jesus name. Amen
