Checking into God’s Presence... “But when the congregation is to be gathered together, ye shall blow, but ye shall not sound an alarm. And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow with the trumpets; and they shall be to you for an ordinance for ever throughout your generations. And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the Lord your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies. Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the Lord your God. And it came to pass on the twentieth day of the second month, in the second year, that the cloud was taken up from off the tabernacle of the testimony.” Numbers 10:7-11. There is a condition which God placed on each and every one for His help to be guaranteed in the time of our needs. God desires to help His people if only those called by His name can summon the courage to sound their trumpets in prayer by fasting and using thanksgiving to address Him at all times. Significantly, what the Lord wants from us is to draw near Him simply by using the methods mentioned above. Now that we know, let us cry out for His help to receive our divine breakthrough and protection granted by His grace. Make the relationship we hold for Your Name ardent and capable of shunning vain labour that satisfies the desires which increase the tendency to partner with more ungodliness. On different occasions, oh Lord, we have individually chosen to be called after Your name, therefore declare us fit for the purpose by Your Holy Spirit. Cleanse us and make us “flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart” 2 Timothy 2:22. And may the grace to know God’s conditions through His Word and the ability to be obedient and receive appropriate help when necessary be our portion in Jesus Mighty Name.
