Testimony Time:-God's requirement is for us to fulfill His Laws. As much as He has great delight in offerings, praises and sacrifices, the Lord also wants us to fulfill His Laws. Saul was God's favorite who once upon a time kept the commandments of the Lord. He grew to be highly respected making his kingdom at that period to be very popular in Israel. "Saul was thirty years old when he became king, and he reigned for forty-two years". -1 Samuel 13:1. Towards his latter reign, Saul's delight to chase after what God loved and desired became waned. Instead, he shunned the commandments of the Lord and began to offer offerings and sacrifices unto the Lord as a replacement to keeping His Laws. This represented a clear shift from the Pattern of Lord-(Psalm 19:7-9). 1 Samuel 15:1-35 therefore encapsulates the debacle on Saul's reign and the increasing disaffection of God upon him for not chasing after what His demands were, but rather the things of this world which Saul loved so vehemently. Today, are you in the category of Saul, chasing after your delights? Do you believe you can offer to God praises, offering and sacrifices as a replacement for His Laws? "Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams." If you are in Christ, how devoted are you to your claim? You may not know that within the framework of your complacency "the Law has become our tutor to lead us to Christ, so that we may be justified by faith" -Galatians 3:24 Let Your Laws teach and lead us so that we can be justified by faith we so much profess.
