Checking into Gods Presence...
The poet William Henry Davies wrote "What is this life if full of care, we have no time to stand and stare. No time to stand beneath the boughs and stare as long as sheep or cows. No time to see, when woods we pass, where squirrels hide their nuts in grass. No time to see, in broad daylight, streams full of stars, like skies at night".
In retrospect, the author was speaking God's Language which is Love. A language that is so elusive in the world's mechanism. We can't just stand and stare at the word love; we must show the duty of care.
It is true that many preach the word but cannot bear to listen to the word, let alone practice it. Many are mere caricatures of the word love, their attitude resonates what Proverbs 6:16-19 speaks about.
And so this New Year, let us consider our ways and be wise. We should start to live according to the values of God where love is one of its characteristics and that is irrespective of your position. For the Bible is very clear about our responsibilities towards one another, and it must be freely given.
Lord, encourage us in Your wisdom so that we will live our lives according to Your ways in Jesus Mighty name. Amen.
