Testimony Time:-We all have inbuilt stigma of self righteousness oozing out of our minds either consciously or unconsciously. To a large extent, the degree of self righteousness in us tends to becloud our minds in a way that incapacitates the need to work on the challenges we are likely to face with imperfections.
The Bible records in Ecclesiastes 7:20 that "there is not a righteous person on earth who always does good and never sins" and in Romans 3:23 - For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard."
Why must men concentrate on other people's imperfection when their thoughts, ways and utterances are already defiled? "You, then, who teach others, do you not teach yourself? You who preach against stealing, do you steal? You who say that people should not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples? You who boast in the law, do you dishonor God by breaking the law? Romans 2:21-23
"How can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,' when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye." Luke 6:24
Let us therefore concentrate on fulfilling the law so we can improve the relationship with our Maker. That way we will see less fault in each other and appreciate the statement-"there is not a righteous person on earth who always does good and never sins". And so I pray to God to help us. Amen
